Nitrogen Occurrence of nitrogen a little about nitrogen

 Occurrence Nitrogen :

Nitrogen was discovered by Daniel Rutherford in the year 1772. As it was found from nitra, it's name was given nitrogen. It exists in diatomic state and thus it is named as dinitrogen.

Occurrence:
it occurs in the nature both in the free and combined state. Air contains 75% by weight and 80% by volume of nitrogen. In combined state it is mostly found as Chile salt pertre(NaNO³), Indian salt petre (KNO³)  ammonium salts, etc. It is found in the plants and animals as amino acids and proteins.
