Fighter jet engine how it works

 


Fighter jets typically use jet engines, which work by taking in air from the atmosphere, compressing it, mixing it with fuel, and then igniting the mixture to produce thrust.


The specific type of jet engine used in fighter jets is called a turbofan engine. In a turbofan engine, a large fan at the front of the engine draws in air, which is then compressed by a series of rotating blades in the compressor section. The compressed air is then mixed with fuel and ignited in the combustion chamber, producing a high-velocity stream of hot gases.


The hot gases produced by the combustion process are expelled out the back of the engine, creating a powerful thrust that propels the jet forward. This is known as the "exhaust" or "jet efflux."


In addition to the fan and compressor, a turbofan engine also includes a turbine that drives the compressor, as well as various other components that help control the flow of air and fuel through the engine. Fighter jet engines are designed to be highly efficient and powerful, allowing the jet to achieve high speeds and maneuverability in the air
