Extraction of copper by leaching process

Leaching process:

 Copper can be extracted from the concentrated oxide or carbonated ore by leaching process. This concentrated ote is treated with dilute sulphuric acid when copper sulphate is obtained in solution. From this solution, metallic copper is precipitated with iron fillings or recovered by electrolysis using lead anodes and pure copper cathode.
