Nature of the metal and it's ion

Nature of metal and it's ion :

The electrode potential depends on the tendency of the electrode to form ions. It is a fact that no two electrodes have the same electron structure and therefore, no two electrodes have the same tendency to release electrons forming ions, I.e., the same electrode potential. For example, sodium being extremely active, loses electrons readily and has, therefore, high electrode potential. Cooper on the other hand being less active has a lower electrode potential.
