Potential deference

Potential deference:

1- It is the actual difference in potential of the two electrodes when they are connected externally and current is flowing through the circuit .

2- It is measured by a voltameter.

3- It is less than EMF (It is because EMF) is the limiting potential difference at zero current with no consumption of energy.

4- It is not responsible for the flow of steady current.
