Optical isomerism what is optical isomerism

Optical isomerism:-

Compound having same chemical composition but having difference in the plane of plane polarized light are called optical isomers and phenomenon is called optical isomerism. These compound are not impossible on their mirror image. These are designated as d or (+) and or (-) depending upon the rotation of the plane polarized light towards left (laevorotatory) or towards right (dextro-rotatory) . Complex with coordination number 4 and 6 usually show this type of isomerism .
