Indian peafowl  interesting facts about peacock   The indian peafowl or blue peafowl   (scientific name - Pavo cristatus) is a large and brightly blue colour peacock  of the pheasant family native to south Asia, but in many other place of the earth , Linnaeus in 1758 first named the spisese  some people still using the same name (Pavo cristatus) . The male peacock is blue with a big crest with wire like feather and it is best known for the long train made up of elongated upper tail feathers  which gives a colourful and beautiful spots .
